トートバッグとバックパック。それぞれのスタイル特有の利点を活かした使用シーンがある一方で、道具として使用に不向きなシーンも存在します。1つのアイテムでそれぞれを補完することができるのが2WAY仕様のバッグ最大の利点ですが、往々にしてそのルックスが蔑ろにされがちだと感じていたデザイナーが目指したのは、「トートバッグ」としてのフォルムの美しさと「バックパック」としての扱いやすさの両立。

ビジネスシーンにおいてトートバッグを活用する利点は「ブリーフケースよりも優れた収納力とスマートな印象与えるルックス」と定義し、2WAY仕様であることを感じさせないフォルムのトートバッグを作り上げました。

同時に、バックパックを活用する利点を「荷重の負荷分散による身体への負担軽減と両手を自由に使えること」と定義し、自転車や公共交通機関を利用する都市通勤者にとって扱いやすいバックパックの機能をバランス良く取り入れています。

"URBAN COMMUTER 2WAY TOTE BAG 3" is a mid-sized 2-way tote bag designed for the urban commuter.

A tote bag and a backpack, each with its own unique advantages. While there are situations where the unique advantages of each style are utilized, there are also situations where they are unsuitable for use as tools. The main advantage of a 2-way bag is that each item can complement the other, but the designer felt that the appearance of the 2-way bag is often neglected, so the designer aimed for both a beautiful shape as a "tote bag" and easy handling as a "backpack".

We defined the advantage of using a tote bag in the business scene as "superior storage capacity compared to a briefcase and an appearance that gives a smart impression", and created a tote bag with a shape that does not give the impression that it is a 2-way bag.

At the same time, the benefits of using a backpack are defined as "less strain on the body through load distribution and the ability to use both hands freely," and a good balance of backpack functions that are easy to handle for urban commuters who use bicycles or public transportation has been incorporated.

Another advantage of tote bags is that they "free you from back sweat even in hot summers. Spend the too-hot summers in the city in comfort with this 2-way bag that can easily change styles depending on the season and temperature.

• The front pocket with zipper closure is an efficient organizer for small items.
